I know this is an “about me” page, but before we get to that….

I want to start by raising your glass, cup, or bottle in a toast (no it doesn’t matter what you’re drinking). I want to toast to escaping the 9-5. There are currently more opportunities than ever before to start a business, work remotely, or have a flexible schedule than at any point in the last 50 years. The realization of how much your job

The realization of how much your job affects your quality of life is becoming more apparent as commutes get longer and the average hours worked per week increase. If you want to start an online business but haven’t, if you have started one but are struggling, or you just can’t muster the courage to present your boss with proof you should be working remotely, this site is for you.

I’m here to help

My name is Tyler Poole.

I have spent most of the last 10 years in manufacturing and warehousing environments. From this experience, I’ve learned how to coach, mentor and grow people around me. I’m proud to say a manager I trained is now running a multi-million dollar operation for a company that I was part of.

During this time, I also learned I couldn’t be part of Corporate America. I learned that I hated being forced to work an arbitrary number of hours, I hated punching a time clock, and I hated reporting to a manager who disliked his job as much as the people who reported to me hated theirs. I left that world saying one thing:

NO THANK YOU!!!

The good news is during this time is I found out what I do want, and what I do like to do.

I was able to be a part of 3 different side businesses and I learned the ins and outs of being an Entrepreneur. I made money, I lost it. I had some great successes, and I had some very painful failures. In June of this year (2015), I was preparing to leave my last 9-5 and I really sat down and analyzed what had gone right and what had gone wrong with my previous ventures.

I noticed a trend. Being an entrepreneur is tough. The books lie. They show people on the beach sipping flavored alcoholic beverages with laptops in their hands and talk about working a couple hours a week. Sure, that’s possible. I’m sure there are entrepreneurs who live that lifestyle. But those books make it look easy. I want to make sure you know that it’s not. Most of the time it is hard work, long hours, and no guarantee that it will all pay off. Doubt, fear, and uncertainty creep in your mind. This is the toughest part.

The mental side of being an entrepreneur is so difficult that most people fail. I know that it showed up time and time again in my personal failures. I don’t have all the answers and I will continue to make mistakes, of that I am certain. I can, however, teach others what I’ve learned to make sure they don’t have to learn things the hard way.

My goal with this website is to help spread what I’ve learned and to continue to grow and succeed myself. I’m currently working on this blog, I’m running a Kindle publishing company, coaching and mentoring other entrepreneurs, and driving for Lyft and Uber. It is a lot. I probably work longer hours than I ever did in the 9-5 world. I am also happier than I ever was in Corporate America.

If it’s your goal to escape the 9-5, to succeed in running your own business, and to grow and improve your mental game please take a moment and sign up for my email list. You’ll receive weekly articles and updates to help you accomplish all these things and more.
